ULBRICHTS Protection has a strong presence at Eurosatory trade fair
Schwanenstadt (Austria) / Paris – The Austrian special helmet manufacturer ULBRICHTS Protection is represented twofold at the Eurosatory international trade fair in Paris: from 11.06 to 15.06.2018, the European market leader for bulletproof titanium helmets is presenting itself both at the stand of its French sales partner UNITIVE (Hall 6, stand K48), a subsidiary of the Etienne Lacroix Group, as well as at the shared stand of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber WKO (Hall 5A, stand G388).

In view of new terror and amok threats, police units throughout Europe have adapted their deployment and protection concepts – including in France. Bulletproof helmets are an elementary component of personal protective equipment. “Only the high-tech metal titanium offers effective protection against bullet shots due to its superior material properties and is therefore the first choice for the police”, according to Scharpenack.
Titanium helmets for various police units
The product portfolio of ULBRICHTS Protection comprises three helmet series: the “ZENTURIO” fulfils the especially high requirements of special forces regarding protective coverage and functionality. Especially for beat officers, who are the first on site in serious cases, the “HOPLIT” was developed. In more and more countries, there are two HOPLIT helmets to hand in every patrol vehicle. The HOPLIT offers beat officers the same protection level that was previously reserved for special forces. The “OPTIO” is a light titanium helmet for members of large assault squads. In escalating violence situations, it provides protection not only against blows, kicks and thrown missiles, but in addition against bullet shots. ULBRICHTS Protection is therefore the only manufacturer to offer a helmet concept with a modular structure for various units and deployment purposes within the police force. The three helmet models are tailored in detail to the protection requirements of their wearers and can be configured according to customer wishes. ULBRICHTS Protection offers e.g. various helmet fits, hybrid variants (titanium-aramid compound), varnishes, visor types, as well as adaptors for affixing further accessories.
Front shield against Kalashnikov missiles
At the beginning of 2018, ULBRICHTS Protection was also the first manufacturer worldwide to present an effective head protection against Kalashnikov missiles. The combination of a titanium or titanium-aramid helmet (hybrid) and an additional front shield is capable of stopping the extremely high penetrative power of an iron core projectile from a Kalashnikov assault rifle and at the same time to prevent a fatal trauma for the helmet wearer. “FORTIS” – the name of the patented front shield – has a modular use and can be retrofitted. This increases the protection level in the particularly endangered front forehead area to VPAM-6.
